Education & Experience:

Susan is delighted to teach Executive Functioning and serve as an Upper School Co-Director. Before joining the Groves team, Susan taught English, coached skiing, and led summer programming at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts and University High School in San Francisco. Along the way, Susan earned a Master’s in Education from Harvard and taught language arts and drama at Navajo Preparatory School in Farmington, New Mexico. After staying home to raise three children Olivia [24], Lucas [20], and Cordelia [18], with her husband Scott [57], Susan returned to school life as a member of the special education department at Global Academy, a leading charter school in New Brighton. Susan then made an excellent decision to join Groves Academy a decade ago.

Hobbies:

Outside of school, Susan travels, cooks, hikes and hangs out with her brother-sister cat duo, Rosie and Frankie, who bring daily joy to her suddenly empty nest.
