Colette Owens works as a Groves Literacy Partnership Literacy Coach at our partner sites in Minneapolis Public Schools. Prior to joining the team she served as the Executive Director of Hiawatha Academies, a charter school network in Minneapolis, MN. Before moving to Minnesota, she was the Director of Curriculum and Academic Strategy for St. Louis Public Schools. Colette has also served as a coach for new teachers and as the Managing Director of Teacher Development at Teach For America – St. Louis. Colette began her career as a middle school special educator at Long Community School in St. Louis Public Schools. Colette holds a M.A. in Special Education from Webster University and a B.A. in Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.
