Every Student Can Learn to Read: The Science of Reading in the Classroom

Presented by Groves Literacy Coach and Expert Maggie Rowan

This event is in the past. Please watch the recording below.

Don’t miss THE workshop for improving literacy instruction in your classroom.

Calling all teachers! This free literacy workshop will be an interactive session where you’ll build your own lesson plan template for high-quality Tier 1 instruction that you can modify for the needs of students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. You will acquire new knowledge of key skills–phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency–from the National Reading Panel’s Five Components of Reading.

Attendees explore the concept of how students learn to read based on years of literacy research and how the application of this science has impacted the learning of students and teachers using the Groves Method™ curriculum in their classrooms.

  • Look at methodologies that can help students close the reading gap.
  • Build your own lesson plan template for high-quality Tier 1 instruction that can be modified for the needs of students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
  • Participate in discussions and learn key skills–phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency–from the National Reading Panel’s Five Components of Reading.
  • Leave with a working knowledge of the science of reading and look towards how that knowledge can be applied in their classroom.
